Photo Sharing Guidelines

Members are encouraged to share photos taken on trips and at local events. The photos can be organized as a web page by the webmaster or a complete  web page can be provided.

If  you would like the webmaster to organize the photos

Send .jpeg or .jpg files from your camera.
Don't worry about size or resolution. Our software will adjust size for web viewing.
Please provide captions for your photos an overal title for the event. The information may be included in the photo files or it may be in a separate email.
If possible, use your computer to rotate the images so that they are upright.
Select photos that you believe will make an attractive album.

If you have software for creating photo albums and you want to send a complete album

Limit the size of photos to 800x600 pixels. This is about 0.5 Megapixels; much less than your camera produces. Please do not send a complete album if your software is not capable of reducing image size.
Include captions for each picture. First names with last initials make good captions.
Include a title for the album.

Sending the photos

Photos may be sent as attachments to email sent to: photos@pvskiers.org. Please send a separate email to webmaster@pvskiers.org letting him or her know that there are photos waiting to be processed.

Photos may also be uploaded by ftp. This is the best method for sending a large number of photos. The ftp site is: ftp.pvskiers.org. A user name and password is required by the ftp site. The user name is: PVSmember (capitalize as shown). The password is the name of our newsletter (all upper case).  Captions cross referenced to the uploaded file names may be uploaded in a separate text file of they may be included in email to webmaster@pvskiers.org.  Please send a separate email to webmaster@pvskiers.org advising that you have uploaded the photos.

Photos may be combined in a zip file when sending photos by email or by ftp.
