About Us

The Potomac Valley Skiers was founded in 1965 by a group of dedicated skiers. We now have about 200 members and we have a varied schedule of skiing and non-skiing events.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM. Meetings are held in member homes at various locations in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Guests and prospective members are welcome at meetings but they need sponsorship from a current member, trip leader, or the membership chair person. Contact the trip leader if you would like to attend a meeting before joining one of our trips. Contact David DeVilbiss, our membership representative, if you are interested in joining our club. PVS publishes a monthly newsletter. This is available on this web site for members only. Others should contact the membership chair and request a copy of the newsletter.

The Ski Trips link on our home page provides details on trips for the current or forthcoming season. The Calendar link provides a list of local events. Details of these events are in the newsletter.

PVS is a membr of the Blue Ridge Ski Council. Our members can also join other trips listed on the BRSC trips web page. As a member club of BRSC we get the advantages of National Ski Council Federation (NSCF) membership. PVS members can use this link for NSCF member benefits.
